However, Elise revived Sonic, and he, Shadow, and Silver defeated Solaris, turning time back to when Solaris was a flame, which was then blown out by Elise, preventing Iblis from existing.īecause the Iblis future remained intact for Shadow to return to and appear from, when Mephiles merged with Iblis in the present, it is likely that when Sonic went back in time to save Elise, he created a new timeline, and it was in this timeline that Mephiles merged with Iblis, and that Mephiles did not do so in the "Iblis timeline", having visited the future and known that the Iblis future was set in stone, and possibly being killed by Iblis trying to merge with him in the future. Mephiles merged with Iblis into Solaris, who threatened to destroy all existence.
In the present, Sonic saved Elise from the Egg Carrier crash, but was then killed by Mephiles, causing Elise to shed a tear and release Iblis. Blaze proceeded to destroy herself along with Iblis. He defeated Iblis in battle, and Blaze absorbed him, able to contain him due to her flames. When Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles were sent into the future by Eggman, Sonic fought Iblis and defeated him before he and the others returned to the present.Įventually Silver figured out a way to defeat Iblis. Mephiles appeared and told Silver to kill Sonic, saying Sonic releases Iblis and killing him would prevent it. 200 years later, Silver and Blaze fought Iblis but were never able to destroy him, as he would just be reduced to a ball of flame and then regenerate. Iblis proceeded to turn the world into a burning wasteland.
Iblis was awakened when Eggman's Egg Carrier crashed, killing Elise. The Duke of Soleanna, mortally wounded by Solaris's explosion, sealed Iblis inside Princess Elise, and told her not to cry or else Iblis would be released.ġ0 years later, Eggman kidnapped Elise with the intent of using Iblis in his plans. When Solaris was awakened, he split into two halves, Iblis and Mephiles the Dark. Iblis, also known as the Flames of Disaster, is the fire half of Solaris, an immortal, powerful fire monster, and one of the main villains of Sonic the Hedgehog (2006).
